Spring, Texas-based Champion Fiberglass, a leading supplier of fiberglass conduit, has donated $2,500 to the women’s athletic program at Rice University by sponsoring the 23rd Annual Rice Golf Classic, held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Wildcat Golf Club in Southeast Houston.

Rice Golf Hosted by the Women’s Athletic Advisory Board (WAAB), a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the women’s athletic program at the university, the tournament is the group’s largest fundraising event—with donations funding athletic scholarships for the Rice Lady Owls.
“The Rice Golf Classic is a fun event for a great cause and it aligns perfectly with our efforts to give back to the community,” said Champion Fiberglass President Goran Haag.

A proud supporter of Rice women’s athletic program for many years, Champion’s sponsorship of this year’s tournament included a round of golf at the Wildcat Golf Club. Participating on the Champion team were Manufacturer Representative Jim Krepper of EBR Inc., Project Manager Ken Hengst of Walker Engineering, and Champion Fiberglass Regional Sales Managers Bob Reeger and Scott Patchan.

In addition to plans that include continued support of Rice women’s athletics, Champion will also make other philanthropic contributions during the remainder of 2015 to local high schools such as Klein Oak High School and faith-based organizations MarketPlace Chaplains and Tomagwa.
